FAiR organizes meetings and workshops focused on fairness and responsibility in scientific research, with specific regard to gender equity issues.

On the occasion of the European Year of Equal Opportunities, the Association FAiR (Fairness and Accountability in Research), the Parco Tecnologico Padano of Lodi, the Provincia of Lodi organize the European Workshop “ Mind the Gap 2007 - European Workshop on Gender Equity in Scientific Research" that will be held at the Parco Tecnologico Padano on June 28th 2007.

The workshop is addressed to all actors of the scientific field, from young researchers to managers of political and strategic decisions, with the aim to highlight the “gaps” of opportunities that still hamper women careers and to present the results of specific measures being carried out in the international scientific context. In this light, a special session will be devoted to the EU policy for gender equity in research, with a specific focus on the results of the GAPs (Gender Action Plans) that Parco Tecnologico Padano is carrying out within two big European research networks.

Moreover, many invited speakers, represented by leaders of scientific, sociological and industrial research and of scientific journalism, will be involved in a round table and the discussion will be open to the audience (with simultaneous translation).
